  • I went out with four mates last weekend for two full day charters and I have to say it was the best fishing charter I have ever been on. My mates thought the same and between us we have been on a lot. Mark, Jamie and Tony made us feel so welcome they were very hospitable and treated us like kings. We caught over 100 fish for the two days which included us all hooked up at once on two occasions. The fish was filleted and cryovaced by the boys. The boat was spacious, comfortable and very stable. Port Mac itself is a beautiful frendly little town with a top pub with great meals. It will be a trip that we will talk about until we go next time.  Dan 17/4/12

  •  What a great way to celebrate Dad’s 60th! The sea was big, but Mark and his well-appointed boat handled it so well. To catch 6 tuna to take home, plus many more caught and released was exciting! The photos are great. Big thanks to Tony the deckie for a fantastic BBQ and for looking after us throughout the trip. A memorable day that we hope to repeat again some time soon!.  Berni 6/4/13

  • Fished two days 23-24/2/13 with a group of six guys and had a great time – caught our limit of tuna, bottom bounced for blue eye Trevalla and had a enjoyable weekend all round! The crew on the Remarkable are good value and made the experience enjoyable and would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys blue water fishing in an awesome location!  Cheers guys we will be back again soon.  Andrew 25/2/13

  • Went out on Remarkable on Monday 21/01/13 found tuna had 5 rods go off landed 4 heaviest was about 20 kilos Capt Mark can find tuna before most other boats Great day out Great start to the season.  Max 22/1/13

  • Went out on “Remarkable” 2nd January 2013, there was a group of 9 us.  We all caught a fish or 2 each, even tho Mark had to hook the ones I caught because I have no idea, I even caught Nemo or a fish the size of nemo anyway.  The crew on the Remarkable were a HUGE help for us non-fishermen..  Buddy  16/1/13.

  • A great winter pelagic off Port Mac with Mark and John on 16 June. Calmer conditions that we expected but that made for pleasant viewing conditions. After a quiet summer the birds came pouring in with the highlights a GREY PETREL, LITTLE SHEARWATER, and 3 WHITE-HEADED PETRELS. White-headed Petrels turn up at regular intervals but the Grey Petrel and Little Shearwater are rarely recorded.  If you would like a close encounter with an Albatross just above your head now is the time to get on a pelagic with Remarkable Fishing Charters.  Colin 19/6/13

  • One of the best pelagic birding days off Port MacDonnell on Sunday 16th June. Much excitement with a Grey Petrel which visited the boat for over two hours – a lifer for many including me. The huge white Wandering Albatross was a Snowy Albatross – another lifer for me. Lots of great birds and a distant view of an orca made for a great day. The smoked tuna was a delicious bonus.   Steve 18/6/13

  • A calm summer pelagic on 17th February. Birds were slow to arrive but by mid-day we had about 100 albatross around the boat. Highlights were four Buller’s and an Adult Salvin’s. No great albatross in the calm conditions. All there species of Skuas/Jaegers kept their distance while White-faced Storm Petrel numbers built up steadily on the slick and provided some good photo opportunities. At least one returning Hutton’s Shearwater was photographed. Several large but unidentified whales were sighted but the highlight was a pod of Shepherd’s Beaked Whales at least one of which was photographed breeching. Sightings of this whale are incredibly rare. Common Dolphins accompanied the boat on several occasions.  Colin 5/3/13
